The host was dreadful, we had a delayed flight and didn"t arrive until 2am. The car rental was closed and so we arrived by taxi late at night. I called Booking.com and they contacted the host to let her know of the change in arrival time. When we arrived the host came down and let us in gave us a quick tour and understandably left to say she would be back in the morning. We had a taxi back to the airport booked for 10am and she came to tell us the taxi was here and wanted to do the paperwork then, which of course we couldn"t. When we arrived back we heard nothing more. She came into the apartment every day, however, she didn"t change the bedding, towels, empty the bins, replace the toilet rolls or do anything to make our stay more comfortable. Mid week as we came back she verbally attacked our youngest member about the windows being left open. We only left the windows open as the Air Conditioning wasn"t working. After going down to speak to her about the reasoning for leaving the windows open she came up with her husband and they got the A/C working. We heard nothing more from them for entire stay until the day we left where she was so dreadful that she almost ruined our holiday to Croatia. I went to pay the rest of the bill, which I was unsure as to why it wasn"t taken on booking? Regardless I went up to the office to pay the remainder and she told us that they don"t take cards and it has to be cash. Then she started saying she had told us before, which she hadn"t and was so rude. I said I was happy to pay but I would have to go and get the cash, she followed us out to the car and wouldn"t allow us to go, standing behind the car refusing to move. I had to leave 2 of our party there as hostages. She made us feel like a criminals and threatened to call the police. While I was getting the cash out she continued to be horrible to the other two and told them that she didn"t like us as we arrived in the middle of the night, trust me, that wasn"t the plan. She just continued to verbally abuse us and everything we said wasn"t good enough. The accommodation was fine and in a good location but the host was absolutely dreadful and came close to spoiling our holiday.
